Dedicated support for training in Biomedical Science
Healthcare Science Training Wizards is a specialist consultancy service to provide training support in laboratory medicine. Healthcare Science Training Wizards is able to work with local training officers and departmental managers across all traditional pathology disciplines to enable the in-house delivery of a first-rate training program for all aspects of externally assessed training.

- Candidates completing the IBMS Registration Portfolio
- Candidates completing the IBMS Specialist Portfolio
- Students undertaking work-based learning in conjunction with biomedical science degree courses
- Training officers in the preparation of training material

- All staff in the form of tutorials and journal clubs that constitute Continual Professional Development

Sharon Gage
Sharon Gage (Director) has over 20 years experience in the NHS in roles ranging from Medical Secretary, Research PA to a Professor and Head of a University Department, PA to CEO in an NHS Trust and NHS Workforce Development Confederation and Assistant Manager of a Postgraduate Medical Centre as well as working in the private sector as office manager to a Director in a large American Pharmaceutical company. Sharon took her organisational skills and started SRG Project Management Ltd in 2004 and runs a successful corporate event and office services company.

Georgina Lavender
Georgina Lavender MSc CSci FIBMS PGCert Ed (Director) has a background in education and training in laboratory medicine in the NHS. She has worked extensively across clinical biochemistry, immunology, haematology and blood transfusion for almost 30 years. She has postgraduate qualifications in clinical chemistry, applied immunology and teaching adults. She has been a guest lecturer at a London University in biomedical science and laboratory education, has taught A level biology in further education, has been involved on the management team for a Biomedical Science co-terminus degree project, has been a Registration Portfolio Verifier for the IBMS and was a laboratory training officer for the last eight years of her NHS service. As well as being a founder of HSTW Ltd, Georgina currently runs her own business as a private tutor and science writer.
